Terms

Last updated 29 October 2026

These terms cover the hosted Tohil at tohil.app and app.tohil.app. By playing, you agree to them.

The short version: play fair, keep it legal, and remember that everything the story says is fiction written by AI.

Who can play

Tohil is for adults, 18 and over. Keep your sign-in email secure: whoever can read it can sign in as you.

Your stories

You own what you write: your worlds, your actions and the stories you play. You give us permission to store them, to have them written and voiced by the services listed in our privacy policy, and to show them to anyone you share them with, so that Tohil can work for you. What the narrator writes in your story is yours to keep and share too, as far as the law allows.

When you share a sprout or a tree, the person you share it with can play on from it and share what they make.

What the story says

The narrator, the Game Master and the voices are AI. They can be wrong, strange or out of tone, and facts brought in by web search can be outdated or wrong. It’s fiction: don’t rely on it for advice of any kind.

Dark fiction is allowed (horror, violence, mature themes) within the rules below.

The rules

We may refuse or remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that break them.

Free play and prices

Tohil is free to play, with a daily allowance counted in sunstones. Allowances can change. If paid plans come, we’ll list them on the pricing section before they start, and nothing will be charged without your say-so.

Availability

We work hard to keep Tohil running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or that every feature will stay the same. We may change, pause or end features. Download the stories you care about: they are yours to keep.

Liability

As far as the law allows, Tohil is provided as it is, without warranties, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Open source

Tohil’s code is open source (TODO: licence). These terms cover only the hosted service. If you run your own copy, it’s yours to run.

Changes and contact

When these terms change, we update this page and the date at the top. The operator is TODO: legal name, and these terms are governed by the laws of TODO: jurisdiction. Questions: TODO: contact email.
